Improved Imitations: Modified Copies Winners
~
Our winners this week are @10001gecs, @fractured-infinity, and @levelzeo!
@10001gecs — Pea-Pod Fields//Silent Suburbs
Immediately what sticks out to me is what I guessed to be—and you confirmed in your submission—a very direct reference to classic horror film Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978). For those who haven't seen it, aliens invade by way of strange vegetative pods that slowly kill and replace humans, thus the use of pea-pods as a stand-in. I do think calling it "Suburbs" might be a bit too on the nose, as it's difficult to fit that concept into any of the existing Magic setting, and could easily be achieved with something like "village" or "district" in a more urban plane. I've been really excited to see new Room designs after their strong initial showing, and this really hits the spot. Both doors synergize perfectly while still standing up fine on their own. Pea-Pod fields is a bit harder to quantify on its own, but a slightly more expensive Rampant Growth that thins your deck an additional card is perfectly serviceable. Though, it could feel like the order you want to unlock them is a bit fixed. The land coming back as a creature as well is very clever, and the wording on Silent Suburbs means it works extremely well with effect that let you relock doors.
@fractured-infinity — Boon of Sakashima
I want to preface this by making clear that I say this with the greatest respect, but: what? This is immediately so delightfully off-kilter that I'm instantly transfixed. A one mana Clever Impersonator is certainly absurdly powerful on its own, but both stripping away power and toughness from creatures it may copy and attaching it at the hip to a creature to make it easier to remove are both very smart. It's not flawless however, and I do have a few gripes. Copying another Aura removes most of the downsides and is thus noticeably more powerful that its other applications, so I think it could use a "non-Aura" rider. Similarly, if the intention of being an Aura is to make it more vulnerable, being able to enchant creatures you don't control feels rather against the spirit of the card. Having said all that, though, I'm still a very big fan of the card.
@levelzeo — Vengeful Shadows
Perhaps unsurprisingly, the vast majority of cards submitted this week were blue. After all, blue is the primary color for copying things, but any color can do it if it feels sufficiently appropriate. That's what draws me to this card, then, which does copying in monoblack in a way that just feels so right. Black is already plenty good at bringing back creatures that die, so this really just functions as an extension to that, and tacking the Quietus Spike effect to whoever wronged the creature feels so delightfully devilish. The restriction to your opponent having to intentionally remove something prevents it from being too easily abusable, while the flash enables it to still be a "gotcha" moment against an unwary opponent. The flavor is just delicious too, really epitomizing "vengeance" while fully selling the really cool shadow angle. Part of me is kind of sad that the copy doesn't have shadow, but I'm fully aware that that would be both too cute and too strong, so I don't hold it against you.
~
There's another post coming shortly, except it's the runners up! (It's not the winners.) —@spooky-bard

“I’m not good at flirting,” San claims causing Y/N to look at him through the screen of her phone, as if he’d grown another head.
Fortunately for him, he’s doing a live while she’s watching from another room with Wooyoung  and Yeosang. She can’t say anything out loud, debunking his claims. Instead, she decides to message him privately.
‘What are you talking about not being good at flirting? You flirt with Woo and Sangie all the time.’
She watches on her phone as he looks at his phone, his face turning a shade of red as he reads her message.
“I do not,” he says barely loud enough to be heard, before he reads a comment left on his live. “What’s the cheesiest pick-up line you’ve ever heard?” He takes a moment to think about it. A few seconds later, a look of remembrance crosses his features, and his cheeks flush a deep shade of red. “Is it hot in here or is it just you?" He smiles. “I heard someone use that about a year ago.”
This time her it was her cheeks that burned red as Wooyoung’s witches cackle laughter fills her ears. He was there when Y/N used that same pick up line on San after the two of them had met. In her defense they were both tipsy, which made her a little bit more confident than she normally was and she’d been talking to him for almost three hours before they started the ‘pick-up line contest’.
It seemed to have worked because her and San have been together for over a year now.

description: super cute headcanons depicting reiner becoming a father for the first time.
author’s note: new theme!! slayyyy 🤭 i wrote these after i rewatched how i met your mother for the fifty billionth time and the scene where barney meets his child for the first time spawned these headcanons. y’all liked dad!jean, so here’s dad!reiner 🤪 it ain’t much, but it’s honest work. i’d love to write more dad content for the aot men in the future, but i hope you enjoy this!

— it was no question that reiner always felt like he didn’t deserve to live a happy life.
— but despite all of his sins and feeling like a monster, you were the one to see a loving man underneath, and loved him despite it all.
— once reiner settled into life after years of war and peace negotiations that followed, he was finally able to live the life he always craved, yet didn’t think he deserved.
— the two of you got a little house with hopes of starting a family one day. it was a bit of a fixer upper, but reiner became quite the handyman to create the perfect family home.
— reiner always feared starting a family would mean he’d accidentally create a child just as screwed up as him, but you always soothed those fears, insisting your future child will be brought up with nothing but love, what reiner always wanted in his own childhood.
— of course, there was still some worry, but that was normal for anyone becoming a parent for the first time. reiner just had to remind himself that there wouldn’t be any vicious cycles repeating.
— when you finally became pregnant after months of trying, reiner was ecstatic.
— he wanted to do everything he could to make sure you were both ready. he built the baby’s crib from scratch, using the chopped wood he brought home everyday to craft it himself.
— reiner even tended to your every need, although sometimes you tried to insist he didn’t, reiner didn’t want you have to lift a finger. you were creating new life, after all.
— once it came time for the birth, pre-parental kicked in terribly. every doubt came rushing back so quickly, but reiner had to keep it together for your sake. he couldn’t let you deal with a wreck like him while you were trying to push out a kid.
— but after hours and hours, a baby girl was finally born, and she was one of the greatest things to ever grace this earth.
— when reiner met his baby girl for the very first time, it was like he fell in love all over again. his love for you was always strong, but his love for your child carried just as much strength. every worry he had washed away the second he saw your precious child.
— he held the newborn in his arms, his first words to her; “you are the love of my life… everything i have and everything i am is yours… forever.”
— it was no contest that reiner would dedicate every damn day of his life to you, your child, and whatever future children you may have. there would never be a single doubt.

So, you wanna play a Pokémon TTRPG
Tumblr media
But you don't have the time to manage 1K entries in a book? Well, I'm working on the thing for you! PokéD6.
Tumblr media
Now that I've show you my character sheet concept, let me break down some of the things on it. The biggest thing anyone will notice right away is the lack any numbered stats. This system converts existing BSTs (Base Stat Totals) into a 6 point grade. Above, each black diamond (✦) represents one point of that stat's grade. And any pre-existing pokemon can have it's BST quickly converted by simply dividing any given stat's total by 36 and rounding up, to a max of 6! Each grade also has an associated number of dice, which are always equal to the grade itself, and an associated modifier. A stat's modifier is equal to it's grade plus it's IVs. IVs, represented by the hollow diamonds (✧), have also been simplified down into a single dice roll per stat. So, whenever you capture a new pokemon, roll 6d6. Like with stat grades, each diamond represents the IVs value. IVs cap out at 3.
But, you may find yourself asking, what do Stat Dice and Stat Modifiers even do?
Tumblr media
Currently, they're for combat! While the attack itself determines how much damage it can do, the pokemon's stats determine if the attack hits, it's minimum damage, how hard they are to hit, and even how much they can reduce the damage! When attacking, say with a Physical Move, the attacking pokemon rolls 1d6 + their ATK Modifiers against the defending pokemon's DEF Modifier + 3. If the attack hits, roll the move's Power and add any bonuses given. Such as Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) or type effectiveness. The defending pokemon rolls their DEF Dice, subtracting their result from the Power roll.
Power has now been converted into d6s, to find a pre-existing move's Power divide it's power by 25 and round up! With the exception of very high damaging moves, most moves deal 1d6 to 6d6 damage.
So a move like Tackle deals 2d6 damage.
I could go on, but for now I want to leave this here and just see what people think! I've enjoyed working on it and am pretty close to being able to do a simple beta of it. So, have a copy of the pdf and lemme know what you think!
Tumblr media
EDIT (4/20/24): Yo what if I just suddenly dropped even more rules in this post? Yea? Yea! So here's how trainers work!
Tumblr media
Trainers are divided into four Careers; Field Researcher, League Challenger, Contest Coordinator and Pokemon Breeder! These careers determine starting gear, recommend a set of skills (more on those later!!!), and determine how the player can make money. Field Researchers are basically the intern equivalent of a Professor's Aide! They go out, encounter as many new pokemon as possible, and get paid a weekly salary! They can even earn bonuses for finding odd pokemon, such as ones with unusual movesets~! League Challengers are pokemon trainers like in the games! Beat gyms, get badges, take on the champion. Easy as! They get paid based on the trainers they defeat, which can be picked up at a PokeCenter or just given to them immediately. Contest Coordinators focus on training pokemon for Gen 3 style'd Contests! They make money by winning contests, with each rank paying out higher rewards! And lastly, Pokemon Breeders! Like the name says, they make their money by breeding and raising pokemon at the requests of the Pokemon League or other trainers. The more specific the request, the more money they earn for it!
Trainers also have skills! These work a lot like Stat Grades, but they don't have an associated modifier. When making a trainer, a player picks 6 skills out of 12. Players then have 18 points to distribute however they want into those 6 skills, up to a maximum of 5. The other skills are left at 1. The skills available are: Archeology, Cheering, Climbing, Cooking, Fishing, Foraging, Knowledge, Nursing, Riding, Sneaking, Spotting and Swimming!
I'm currently working on reformatting the doc so enjoy the new tidbits for now! See you again when I've finished the doc!

Question for this month's art contest!
Do you have any guidance on specific species/race that exists on Springrock other than the obvious ones(like the Obscurans, Mahatma's race, and demons)?
Or can we go crazy with our own combos and races??
I'm letting people go off with what they want race-wise, obviously no copying race IPs, so you can't have a Klingon bounty hunter lol!
But I can give you some base presets if you'd prefer!
Of course you've got humans and Obscurans, but there's also the Ultradaam, a race of alien business sharks, Otterans, a race of genetically modified, drug addicted space otters, Paltachians, space trolls from a primitive world that was mysteriously destroyed, tehe Gregorathens, or the Descendents, who are directly tied by blood to the Giants of Orrery and are known for their never-fading beauty and of course, the Fengrels! Silent bipedal wolf people who refuse to write anything down or learn how to as part of their ritualistic culture!
Again, you don't have to do these. Someone made an alien naga wit a claymore tail and now, nagas are a canon race! So quite literally, go off!

Midnight Magic
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
↝pairing: Robin Buckley x reader
↝ Warning: not proofread
↝⎙ 10.5.23
Tumblr media
It was a chilly October evening as you strolled, hand in hand with Robin through the dimly lit streets. The moon loomed overhead, casting an eerie glow on the houses adorned with spooky cobwebs, glowing pumpkins, and ghostly figures. Everyone was ready for Halloween this year.
"So, have you figured out the perfect Halloween costume yet?" Robin asked, a mischievous grin spreading across her face.
You chuckled, contemplating your options. "Hmm, I'm still torn between being a witch or a vampire. How about you?"
Robin pretended to ponder, tapping her chin dramatically. "You know, I think a vampire hunter outfit suits me. I'll keep you safe from all those bloodsuckers."
You shared a playful laugh, the sound echoing down the deserted street. As you continued walking, you stumbled upon a Halloween fair that had been the talk of the town but you hadn't heard any dates for it. It was full of colorful booths, rides, and haunted houses. "I didn't know this was happening tonight," you exclaimed, tugging on Robin's hand. "Let's check it out!"
With your spirits high, you weaved through the fairgrounds, stopping to admire the pumpkin-carving contest and watch the brave souls who dared to enter the haunted maze. The sweet scent of kettle corn wafted through the air, tempting your taste buds.
"Are you up for a scary ride?" Robin asked, pointing at a towering Ferris wheel adorned with glowing pumpkin lights.
You hesitated momentarily but nodded in agreement. "Sure, let's give it a go."
As the ride lifted you skyward, your feet dangled in the cool breeze. The view from the top was mesmerizing, with a panoramic vista of the fairgrounds and the town's Halloween decorations twinkling in the distance. You leaned into Robin's side, finding comfort in her presence.
Afterward, you wandered toward a cozy outdoor café, enchanted by its magical ambiance. Warm lights and pumpkins adorned every table, and the scent of cinnamon and apple cider filled the air.
You settled into a cozy corner, sipping steaming cups of hot cocoa while conversing about your favorite Halloween memories. Robin's stories mesmerized you, and you found yourself lost in her eyes. A soft blush painted your cheeks.
"What's up? What's on your mind?" her voice was gentle as she asked, reaching out to take your hand.
You mustered a small smile, intertwining your fingers. "Just how lucky I am to be spending this Halloween with you."
Robin's eyes sparkled with delight as she squeezed your hand. "The feeling is mutual. I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate this spooky holiday than with you."
As the night wore on, you continued your date, exploring the fair and partaking in games, laughter, and stolen kisses beneath the harvest moon. The Halloween atmosphere, combined with the company of each other, made the evening feel truly magical.
Finally, with the night winding down, you found yourselves back on the street where you began. Robin leaned against a lamppost, her eyes tracing your face with fondness.
"I had an amazing time tonight," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
Your heart swelled with affection. "Me too. Thank you for making this Halloween unforgettable."
"No, thank you," Robin replied, her voice laden with sincerity. "For brightening my world this Halloween, and every other day."
With a final tender kiss, you bid each other goodnight, your hearts brimming with warmth and memories. And as you ventured back to your respective homes, you carried the magic of that Halloween night within you, forever intertwined.

@natew000, telling you over here because I really don't want to trigger one of maro's bosses telling him to block me or something.
Also, this was a while ago, there'll be some amount of reverse-engineering here.
The prompt was "commanders without mana cost". Not like a serious contest or anything, just someone online wondering about that.
Most alternate costs seem to be ways to get permission to cast from other zones, which is obviously worthless for a commander. Of the ones that actually modify functioning, most are for instants and sorceries, so it was more or less inevitable I'd land on bestow.
Except we already had creatures with bestow, and they mostly suck. For noncreature, most other permanent types don't really have enough functionality to be worth keeping around when they become non-Aura. Thus, Equipment.
(a planeswalker with bestow sounds kinda neat, actually, but I don't think I thought about that back then)
Now, if we were seriously trying to make this design, it should obviously have a real cost and then attach on ETB. But I guess the same is true for all alternate costs, if you don't also have the normal one then what is the point, just have it cost what it should and do what it does.
I guess you could make the argument, for bestow specifically, that the fact that you can't cast it at all if you don't have a target for it is an interesting detail. I actually do feel that, I just don't think that'd justify an mv 0 spell, balance-wise.
Also, I couldn't make "Legendary Artifact Enchantment — Equipment" (plus the colour indicator) fit a typeline, so I included a brief paragraph saying the release would have included errata to make bestow also grant the enchantment type if the permanent wouldn't otherwise have it, with the same restrictions etc.
The spell I wound up making was red-white, I don't remember the exact numbers but I'm pretty sure the bestow cost was gold and the equip cost was hybrid, so that it's generic enough in a boros deck, such as one hypothetically commanded by it, but it'd still be somewhat restrictive if you're carrying it in other decks.
As for the actual effect, I wanted it to double on-attack triggers, but change the source to itself or the equipped creature, as appropriate. I hoped that would make it interesting enough to make up for the fact that this ostensibly combat-focused commander cannot deal any commander damage.
Also, I feel compelled to point out that back then we didn't yet have a million trigger doublers for everything. We had Panharmonicon, and I think we may have already had Teysa Karlov, but that was it.
The other interesting thing is that you cannot actually do what I described; the game isn't allowed enough forensic science to determine what abilities would or would not trigger under what conditions. That's why all trigger doublers are replacements on the moment when it actually does trigger, since you can look at the event and see what actually happened.
So the wording I landed on was (probably, approximately) "As equipped creature is being declared an attacker, both it and [CARDNAME] have all triggered abilities of other permanents you control". That's supposed to be "other" as in neither of these two, so as to dodge questions of infinite mirroring, and also maybe incentivize you to enchant something without any triggers. I'm not convinced the text as I wrote it actually does that, much less if I thought about that back then or had a better answer.
So that text would actually be giving all triggered abilities to both of your things, which is a gross overreach, but only during a time when you don't get to take action to trigger other things, so it's perfectly fine and absolutely flawless, mostly.
Also it's worth noticing that abilities are copied twice; "when [this creature] attacks" and "when enchanted/equipped creature attacks" will only trigger once, as per the original mission statement, but other sorts of attack triggers will happen two additional times. That provides some push towards specific deckbuilding, but I'm pretty sure I decided that was ok.
And then the edge cases. The most obvious other thing that happens when a creature is declared as an attacker is that it becomes tapped. I may or may not have considered also giving vigilance to prevent this, but if I did I must have decided against it because that's part of the reason I even remember this in the first place. Do not run City of Brass in this deck. There's also a variety of auras that destroy a thing when it is tapped, but they'd have to grant the ability to the permanent you control, I don't think any do. Would be funny though.
If you're required to pay a cost to attack, that also happens during the appropriate time for any triggers to be copied. If that cost includes mana, you also get an opportunity to activate mana abilities, which lets you do a lot of stuff if you have the right ones.
Obviously Krark-clan Ironworks and Phyrexian/Ashnod's Altar will get you death triggers. Same for a variety of things that sacrifice themselves. I think we already had Treasure, back then.
Metalworker and Selvala (don't remember which one) reveal your hand and the top of your deck, respectively. To be fair I don't think there's anything that triggers on things being revealed, but if there is, there you go.
Blood Celebrant and Pristine Talisman let you lose or gain life, respectively. The later is part of the effect, not the cost, but it is a mana ability so it will happen immediately so it works. Similarly, Talisman plus some Lich variants let you draw cards at this time, so long as the card draw is a replacement and not a trigger, in case we needed "whenever you draw" to be triplicated.
If you then further add that commander whose name I can't recall that turns draws into searches, you now can cast Panglacial Wurm while searching while tapping for mana while attacking, which provides "whenever you cast" triggers. Though admittedly, there's no possible way to do that if my creation is your commander, due to colour identity rules.
If Pili-Pala is your equipped creature, you can untap it while attacking a player with Propaganda, which gives you any inspired triggers. Also, if you can tap Pili-Pala as a cost to activate a mana ability OR as the result of (any chain of replacement effects from) the cost or effect of any mana ability, and given that you are allowed to overdraw mana when paying and to activate mana abilities in any order, this lets you tap and untap it arbitrarily many times during the same attack declaration. Any abilities that trigger will wait to go on the stack after you're finished declaring attackers, unless they themselves are mana abilities.
And I think that's it.

The crew a taro cards
Luffy - the fool
Zoro - the chariot
Nami - strength
Usopp - the magician
Sanji - the hangman
Chopper - the sun
Robin - the empress
Franky - the world
Brook - the hermit
Jinbe - the emperor
Rating strawhats by ability/willingness to do Jojo poses:
10) Jimbe. He's too serious and also he has no slutty waist, he's got the waist of a man that actually commits crimes and doesn't just romanticize them because he's socialist and mentally ill
9) Chopper. Tried once, he can't get his arm over his head or even touch the top of his head and he didn't notice until then. He needed to stop to think about his life for a while after that.
8) Zoro. You'd think he'd be higher but he's not flashy at all, the closest he gets to Jojo posing is when hes fighting and even then it's a stretch. He could pull off the ones he doesn't need thin arms for, and would do it for some booze, but he just doesn't.
7) Luffy. Jojo poses, not intentionally and his face has none of the flare. He'll copy Usopp when he does it, and with the general odd way he maneuvers sometimes he could do it if pressed. He just doesn't often.
6) Usopp. Thought it was cool but then got into his head about it and now he's a little insecure about if it looks lame
5) Nami. When she's flexing usually, also she did it more often starting ironically to tease Usopp but she doesn't do it ironically anymore
4) Sanji. Would do it if asked or when feeling full of himself, has the hip cock down to an art, but won't take his hands out of his pockets because he thinks he looks slick
3) Brook. Would, should, could, has. No notes, he's even got the style down, minus the skin-tight factor (but he doesn't have skin! Yohohoho)
2) Franky. Will modify his body for better posing potential, his outfit is whorish even by Jojo standards, sluttiest waist out there, he would strike every pose except Maybe that one Josuke does because that requires him having his shirt at least partly closed and he can't do that
1) Robin. No contest. Every other frame she's Jojo posing, one of her special moves is literally breaking peoples' backs. She came into our hearts an Egyptian cowgirl and has been serving ever since. Fite me

How Do I Prove My Marriage is Annulled?
How Do I Prove My Marriage is Annulled? – Advocate A.K. Tiwari
Tumblr media
In India, annulment of marriage is the legal process through which a marriage is declared null and void, as if it never took place. Unlike divorce, which dissolves a legally valid marriage, annulment erases the marriage from legal records. For individuals who have gone through an annulment process, proving that the marriage is annulled may be essential for various legal reasons, such as remarriage, property rights, or dealing with inheritance issues. In such cases, there are certain procedures and steps that must be followed to prove the annulment in the eyes of the law.
1. Obtain the Annulment Decree from the Court
Tumblr media
The primary evidence for proving that a marriage has been annulled is the annulment decree issued by the competent court. The court’s decree officially recognizes that the marriage is invalid, and it is the most important document in the process of proving annulment.
The annulment is granted by a family court or a civil court, depending on the specific grounds of annulment (such as fraud, coercion, lack of consent, mental incapacity, etc.). Once the court delivers its judgment, a certified copy of the annulment decree can be obtained from the court's registry. This document is legally binding and serves as definitive proof that the marriage no longer holds any legal validity.
2. Certificate of Annulment from the Court
In some cases, after the court has granted an annulment, it may issue a formal certificate of annulment, especially if one party requests this specific documentation. This certificate serves as another solid piece of evidence, confirming that the marriage has been annulled. Individuals seeking proof of annulment may request this certificate from the court where the annulment case was filed.
3. Marriage Certificate
While the marriage certificate may seem to be a contradictory piece of evidence, it is important for establishing the existence of the marriage that has been annulled. The marriage certificate proves that a legal marriage did occur in the first place. In the case of annulment, it is used to demonstrate the marriage's initial legal recognition before it was later invalidated by the court.
Once the marriage is annulled, the marriage certificate is typically modified to reflect that the marriage has been annulled. In some cases, the marriage may be completely erased from official records, depending on the legal jurisdiction.
4. Court Affidavit
In some circumstances, an affidavit sworn before a magistrate or court may be required to corroborate the annulment claim. The affidavit may state the grounds for the annulment and provide supporting details, including the judgment and decree. It serves as a supplementary piece of evidence for individuals who need to prove their annulment in legal matters, especially in situations where the annulment process may have been conducted under special circumstances or unique grounds.
5. Testimony or Witness Statements
In situations where the annulment process involved disputes or there is a need to prove certain facts about the annulment, witness statements or testimonies may be used. These could include testimonies from individuals who were present at the hearing or witnesses who can confirm the details surrounding the annulment. This is especially useful in contested annulment cases where the validity of the annulment may be questioned.
6. Legal Counsel and Documentation
An experienced family law lawyer, like Advocate A.K. Tiwari, can guide individuals through the process of proving the annulment. Legal counsel can assist in gathering the necessary documents, such as the annulment decree, marriage certificate, and any supporting affidavits or witness statements, ensuring that the proof of annulment is both legally sound and effective in any future proceedings.
Conclusion
Proving that a marriage is annulled involves gathering key legal documents such as the annulment decree, the marriage certificate, and possibly an annulment certificate. Legal support, in the form of expert advice from a professional like Advocate A.K. Tiwari, can help streamline this process. It is important to follow the legal procedures carefully, and these documents can serve as the official proof needed for various legal and personal matters that may arise after the annulment of marriage.

🎯 France's Believe denies copyright allegation in $500 mln US claim by UMG
On Tuesday, French digital music firm Believe (BLV.PA) refuted allegations of copyright infringement brought by Universal Music Group (UMG.AS), which is pursuing damages of at least $500 million (459 million euros) in a U.S. lawsuit. Universal Music, the largest record label globally, claims in the complaint—reviewed by Reuters—that Paris-based Believe and its U.S. subsidiary, TuneCore, have benefited financially from distributing copies of copyrighted recordings.
Respecting copyright is a core value for us, given our global partnerships with artists and labels," stated Believe. "We firmly deny these allegations and the assertions made by Universal Music Group and intend to contest them vigorously." According to UMG, Believe has allegedly distributed copyrighted material by altering artist names or releasing "sped-up" versions of original tracks. The court filing claims that songs by Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga were distributed by Believe under modified names like "Kendrik Laamar," "Arriana Gramde," "Jutin Bieber," and "Llady Gaga."
UMG, ABKCO Music & Records, and Concord Music Group filed the complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Believe’s music catalog is available on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music. Established in 2005 by Denis Ladegaillerie, a former Vivendi (VIV.PA) executive, Believe went public in Paris in 2021. Now active in 50 countries, the company has grown its market share by acquiring music labels, primarily in Europe, which generates the bulk of its revenue.
The company initially aimed to disrupt the music distribution industry by focusing on digital promotion for artists, a strategy that has intensified its competition with major labels.

Darn Good Duplicates: Modified Copies Runners Up!
~
Our runners up this week are @corporalotherbear, @hypexion, and @melancholia-ennui!
@corporalotherbear — Warped Reflection
Simple, but effective. Excellent use of kicker, too, because while a slightly more expensive Clone effect is perfectly serviceable, you're really after the effect of paying the full seven mana. Getting an improved copy that does away with the original is quite good, and I love it as a sort of callback to good old Evil Twin. Good catch putting "another" in the ability as well, to avoid weird corner cases where the target is removed some other way and the token is forced to kill itself. It's solid, it's strong, it's cool, I really like it.
@hypexion — Scream Tear
So, from what I've managed to glean, the name was intended to be a play on screen tearing, specifically because of Duskmorn's glitch ghosts and their association with television screens. I admit I didn't really get that on first viewing, but it still felt perfectly evocative even without that knowledge. A rift like a tear in the surface of reality that emits a noise comparable to screaming still makes perfect sense in my brain. This is a very neat twist on an Oblivion Ring, adding a really interesting dynamic. On the one hand, being able to leverage whatever creature you've imprisoned yourself is strong, but the fact that the enchantment itself transformed means that you have to put it at more of a risk of removal or death in combat to fully take of advantage of it, which threatens to release whatever's under it. There's a lot of nuance here for both players when it comes how to approach it, and that's my favorite kind of card.
@melancholia-ennui — The Notorious Snatcher
So, immediately, I'm a bit dubious about the use of "The" in the name here. It's not legendary, so how many The Notorious Snatchers could there possibly be? At any rate, funny how Afterglow keeps coming up, eh? Good to see you're still experimenting with it. This definitely feels like a design enabled by Afterglow rather than just showing it off, and it's also uniquely Afterglow. After all, getting a second copy of this effect is quite strong, but the interesting part is that it actually makes the creature more vulnerable to being removed, which therefore makes the effect less powerful. I'm a bit dubious of the Afterglow cost being white, however, just because I'm not entirely sure monowhite should have access to this kind of effect if they manage to dump this straight to the graveyard. I'd be interested to hear the logic behind it, certainly.
~
That's about it. As usual, I'll be taking requests for additional commentary in our Discord. See you there! —@spooky-bard

Azerothian Growing Pains
or: guide to playing backstab rogue solo in classic wow!!!!
this one is a huge mess please dont feel bad if you dont read it
when i was 9 years old, my dad at some point decided to let me get into playing a game he was playing again, world of warcraft. this wasn't the first time i had played, during the first few months, before the release of the infamous war effort, my dad had done similar and created an account for me to play on; but since the last time any attempts were made i was more or less kept around as a guild mascot, I had a lot more freedom given. i could play any race on the same faction, any class, and the logical choice was to copy my dad somewhat and choose undead, then be a little different and copy his alt's class of rogue. a few times of modifying the randomly generated names left me with Jalgun, a rogue who lives forever in infamy among my friends for his very silly name. I remember hitting level 15, and quickly abandoning silverpine for the barrens, a third death at the son of arugal steeling my resolve to find a source of comedy in barrens chat, barely understanding what made it funny or why it became so well known. I remember stonetalon, bereft of players, purely defined by a giant water wheel that now punctuates the whole zone for me. a continual testing of western plaguelands, running over to see if the plagued bears there were still level skull. at 40, i got 60 gold from my dad to cover the amount i was missing to unlock my first mount, and wound up spending the next few weeks just exploring around. at some point, a guildie and friend of my dad found me out in the world, and took me to razorfen downs to run multiple times for two coldrage daggers, stating how good they were in pvp and they'd be a great grab. I got one fairly quickly, but the second dagger never dropped. Jalgun's last moments before being lost for a decade were simple, my first alterac valley. nothing big or grand, nothing that stuck in my head like the waterfall, or coldrage dagger. I got off, parked in lights hope chapel, and then we were no longer playing wow.
when I was 21, I decided to get into a game that i was playing again, one that I had come back to on my own in an expansion themed similarly to the one i had last seriously played, Legion. the main difference this time being a focus on the fun of experiencing something i did as a kid at an age where i could really process it, really understand the reason why hooks from it still dug into me. why i could still picture that water wheel clearly even then. processing a different angle and view of myself at the time, i went drastically different, alliance, choosing paladin because of the comedy of self inflicted torment i saw in leveling a class others saw as miserable for my first max level character, dwarf not just to avoid the boring answer of human, but as another little joke about the existence of dwarf female characters not existing. for the first time in anything, I named a character after myself. I can't say there's anything especially deeply dug into my psyche from the leveling process the way that jalgun did, but I do remember my genius idea after getting a world blue (random drop rare item, a lot rarer than your average item but not the rarest tier of random drop. "world" drop items are notable in the fact that they are all bind on equip and often sell very well on the auction house due to their rarity.) that gave bonus damage against demons to completely rebuild around farming a few of the demons in aszhara for reliable felcloth to make some money, as well as sneakily getting to shatterspear village to farm with very little contest from other people. I think what mostly sticks into my head with Miriam is the time I spent raiding, the fun I had in the comedy that the meta of holy paladin for healing was just to crit as much as possible so you never truly spent a drop of mana healing. after a few months, the guild I was in for raiding splintered, and rather than search elsewhere I turned to another character who's name I had snagged at the same time as Miriam.
I think around when I started the journey of leveling jalgun again is when the fact that the idea of a meta had really sunk into my brain was first realized by me. nothing huge specifically, but remembering my dad talking about his own rogue in original burning crusade, saying "people still really don't realize how strong combat is, they spend about 10 seconds wondering why the fuck a rogue with maces does that much damage before they realize they're dead" which in 2019 turned out weirdly prescient. the classic ideas of dagger rogues were largely mediocre compared to deep down the combat tree, especially for leveling. I of course, still thriving on the high of discovering my own contrarian spirit, immediately veered into not just a bit on playing weaker, but also somewhat a statement of challenge to the idea of daggerless rogue, and committed to my own personal rogue dagger build.
one of the things that you come to learn as you play against a defined "meta" of any kind isn't that things become the most widely adopted due to being the absolute strongest, or being the intended or best way. they become widely adopted due to ease. a strategy may be much stronger than another, but if the other strategy is just a few button presses with no potential for misstep, it will almost never win over the more reliable one. combat rogue for leveling, more than anything else, is consistent. you gain higher hit chance from talents and miss less, you need less positional work to achieve damage, and you literally just need three buttons for your core rotation most of the time. even if similar in effort, assassination or subtlety would never be anywhere near as consistent.
while locked by requiring a dagger in the main hand, ambush has an insanely high damage multiplier of 250% of base weapon damage plus a decently high base number. on top of that, there's' two total talents that give it up to a massive 85% crit chance, as well as one that just naturally gives you another 5%, meaning you only need to get 10% from gear to guarantee ambush crits. in world of warcraft, there are two main ways a melee character does damage. colloquially, they're referred to as yellow hits and white hits, named after the color of the text. yellow is damage from spells cast, ones like ambush or backstab, and white is the normal basic attacks your character passively does. while they compose a decent amount of the damage dealt, white hits normally don't have any specific mechanical skill or interesting things aside from some specific positional timing to avoid taking damage if you know how to kite with your auto attacks. however, a fascinating but unknown mechanic of white hits is while they normally decide if they crit or not off of their own calculations rather than ones tied to the spells cast, if you start combat with a spell the first white hit from each weapon uses that spells crit rate rather than your normal crit rate. what does that all mean? well, lets say you had a spell with a 100% crit rate while your normal crit rate is 10%, and you started combat by using it. rather than calculating if they crit off of that 10%, they instead calculate off of the 100%, meaning you don't just do ambush damage plus weapon damage, you do critical damage for both, leading to a ratio of 500% weapon damage plus 200% weapon damage plus a flat amount. if you keep your dagger as up to date in level as you can, ambush will oneshot mobs 98% of the time until around level 45.
I love learning mechanics of games. I love the act of finding little bits and weird parts, and seeing how they wind up interacting. every time i played them, the joy of a deckbuilder card game was purely in the deckbuilding rather than the gameplay itself. the issue I would always run up to in it was that a good percentage of the playerbase does not view that as especially fun or part of it, and works through finding prebuilt ones by experts. when i was younger, i would get upset over it, feeling like there was some sort of self harm in cutting out the part of the game I saw most fun. nowadays i see it as just how it is, though being someone who isn't an expect it's hard to really compete against stuff like that which winds up souring me on it a lot, which is something i need to work on.
you might notice that this guide would only work until 45, and the more keen wow players would know ambush isn't unlocked until level 18. what does one do in those scenarios, when you're still trying to gain the powerhouse of your build, or when the gimmick seems to die out? well, there is a similar spell to ambush that deals solid damage and benefits from a few of the same talents that ambush does, backstab. backstab, like ambush, is conditional in being positioned behind a target. early on, it can be treated like a pseudo ambush to open, giving you a reliable bit of early damage, but seems dead in the water the second that the mob is facing you. thankfully, around the same time you also get a spell called gouge, which gives you a stun that lasts for a few seconds, but breaks when they receive damage and turns your basic attack off. it gives you more than enough time to walk behind the enemy and land another backstab, and then you just wait for the cooldown to finish on gouge to repeat the process until the enemy is dead. interestingly, a lesser known bug is that for some unknowable reason, mobs will sometimes turn to face another direction, which almost always seems to be enough to get their back into you, making backstabbing easier.
a few years back, after some insanely kind help from a blizzard cs person (who almost certainly doesn't work there anymore and deserved better than that company anyways) i got access back to Jalgun. reset back into undercity, level 52, and I felt a conflict begin inside me that I still wrestle with today. do i play Jalgun? do I preserve him? what should I do with one of the few childhood things I can reliably only have fond memories for? after a few weeks, the decision I finally settled on is that 10 year old me would have kept playing him, so it'd be unfair to not do the same. I gingerly comb through Jalgun's Inventory, his equipped items, his bank, and excise everything that is sentimental or has "rare" value; open the mail to get the bags and gold I had sent over from a main, and rush to archiving as much as I can. laying gear out like an outline, blazewind breastplate centered, fleshhide shoulders secured to the side, topped off by ebon mask. Coldrage Dagger was in his main hand.
as expected with a build that relies on esoteric game mechanics, there are limitations you have to follow. the first is that you cannot use any poisons that do damage over time, and instead largely rely on instant poison if you use poisons at all. second, and probably weirder, isn't just the fact that you have to use a dagger in your main hand for your abilities, but the fact that None of those abilities care about your offhand. while normally coordinating weapons of the same type is good for damage and optimization, that isn't always the case for backstab rogue. your offhand is entirely a statstick. hell, an item that just goes into your offhand and does not do damage itself is as effective if the stats are good enough.
when I was 26, I got bored one day. i opened season of discovery, a temporary wow server type set up by blizzard which has you explore the world itself for ways to augment and change your playstyle. during the original launch, I thought there would be some interest in me for playing it, so I wound up making a character that day. not a rogue, but a priest. due to heavy congestion in the undead (did you think i chose another race?) starting zone, I decided the real best option was instead to make the trek to the tauren starting zone, ascertaining that if anywhere was likely to be empty, it would be the arguably least played race's starting area. my priest made it all the way, and after a few minutes i decided it wasn't clicking and logged off. this most recent time, however, I had to stick to the bit fully. the priest boring me as an idea, I once again do the normal thing for me at this rate and make an undead rogue. her name isn't jalgun.
when levelling solo, it's basically impossible to avoid downtime in classic wow. at best, you need to stop for a few to drink water after a few pulls to regenerate your mana. solo rogues can have some rough downtime from time to time, and while it's not as bad as other classes, it can be frustrating while you have a core mechanic of the build centered around a buff that can time out if you eat too long. on top of that, classic can be very costly, in game. the notable milestones of costliness being level 40 and 60, where you get your normal speed and swift speed mount respectively. thankfully, rogue's have a fairly unique way to get around those both, and it all comes from one source: pickpocketing. while arguably a flavor ability more than anything else, pick pocket can have some incredible return on investment. reagents for spells like vanish or blind can be found in lockboxes you pickpocket, 4-5 silver a mob can be in their pockets, and they regularly carry food or potions with them. while they can be sold, being able to treat potions like rpg consumables much more readily while levelling drastically improves the flow of combat.
whenever I take long breaks from wow, I wind up essentially putting my characters on holiday in certain places. for my warlock, he goes to the pandaria farm. my priest goes to the original undead starting zone, and jalgun, of course, goes to that water wheel; somehow untouched after the cataclysm, after nearly 20 years of existing, just as constant as it is in my mind. As time goes on, the core of the game changes, classic goes from solved on paper to solved in practice to desperately optimized and treated like a perfectly maintained box and set of rules to play, minds consumed by a need to do their childhood right, then to play the spreadsheet right. the world that they loved at best a backdrop for trying to perfect numbers; to be the best out of 40 people in raids where you realistically need 15-20 competent people to make it work. when I play, I see the water wheel. I see razorfen kraul, I hear the clanging, tempoless, brill inn's music, my eyes sting from the overwhelming orange coming off of durotar. but now, in this play through, I've realized I've been seeing more than that. I see the wowhead page I pulled up to find the best daggers, my map shows me the levels each zone recommends, 5 funny little bars on the top left of my screen tell me who's doing the best at the numbers part of the game, and while i do find victory when my silly setup remains at the top despite being off meta, the focus on those numbers haunt me. every time I play, there's more added to World of Warcraft, and I start to barely notice the weird jank from clashing addons. I spend time hoping for someone to invite me to a dungeon, as an escape from the normal routine, dealing with people frustrated how unoptimized things are in a game twice the age of their children. every time, I'm afraid I'll stop seeing that water wheel.
Tumblr media
I might just have to hope Jalgun keeps seeing it for me.

CUTE THINGS THEY DO WHEN YOU DO THEIR MAKEUP — ot7/gn!reader
Tumblr media
note: honestly thought abt posting this only as a hyung line imagines BUTT i changed my mind and wrote for the maknae lines bc i love them all 🤭💕💕 I'm sorry of the maknaes are kinda short and half-assed. I just wanted to get rid of my writers block T_T
tags & warnings: established relationship, fluff!! >< smiled while writing heejakewonki tbh HAHAHAHA . . . not proofread
perm. taglist! @jangwonie @jungwonize @butterflyy-ningg @w3bqrl
Tumblr media
♡ ! — Heeseung only accepted your offer to put makeup on his just so he could feel you so close. Though he couldn't stand it just staying still and watch how you gently stylized his face, and with your adoring face so close to his... How could he not react to that? He'd swiftly yet gently just place both of his hands on your cheeks out of nowhere whilst you’re still putting his makeup, afterwards began to drown you with compliments that you didn't seem able to resist until you became a red-faced mess so close right in front of him. " God. how are you so so pretty? I could kiss you right now. "
♡ ! — Jongseong would just look into your eyes, admiring your focused face a few inch closer to him. he didn’t want to just stay still and wait until you finish doing his makeup. He can’t stop himself from suddenly kissing your nose out of nowhere. A few times he did this you were surprised but you got used to it eventually. He never seems to grow tired of placing sweet peck on your nose whenever you finish a part of doing his face.
♡ ! — Jake is such a cutie. he always gets ecstatic whenever you tell him you wanted to put makeup on him (please he gets so excited to the point he's the one to prepare your makeup kit for you!). and by the time you are applying makeup on him, whenever he gets the opportunity he would boop your nose with his finger. he would do it when you're least expecting it, so you get startled whenever he does so. It was slightly anmoying but you couldn't help but giggle and smile whenever he does so. He's just so cute. too cute.
♡ ! — Sunghoon would be a real tease. Even you couldn't last long going too close to hoon. He's a funny fucking dude cause he'd initiate an unnecessary staring contest with you; just having eye contact with him could make your face red as hell. " How cute. " that's what he says whenever you make a pause and try to breathe as fast as you can, following with him cupping the both of your cheeks, gently pulling you right in front of his stunning face once again. " I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Please continue. "
♡ ! — Sunoo tells you stories, fun facts, kdrama criticisms, or just tell whatever the whole time you do his face. Kind of distracting though you don't mind since he's really balanced so it's easy for you to follow and do his look. You actually enjoy him sharing his insight to you during a supposedly really quiet process. After that he offers to do yours as well, " I look so cute! Come on love, i'll do yours. Let's match looks! "
♡ ! — Jungwon actually LISTENS to you!! Quiet and obedient the whole time. Though would lose his shit by the time you get to do his eyeliner. Also by losing his shit— what I mean is that he'd suddenly kiss you whilst doing his eyeliner! He just couldn't take it " How can I not kiss you? you were so close. too close. "
♡ ! — Ni-ki is honestly so stubborn. Would take a while to finish his makeup. He teases too much but it's tolerable. As much as you want to be frustrated, you couldn't. You like him like this and for some reason, you could focus better. After that he would just let your forehead lay on his for a short while, while your noses are in direct contact. " I know it hasn't been anytime long but i miss your face this close to mine, so let's stay like this for another few minutes. "

Hi can I please request mortal kombat nightwolf, sub-zero(kuai), Fujin, Lui Kang, Kung Lao, Rain, and kenshi with an S/O who randomly grabs their butt, and bites them (not hard biting but play biting). S/O says it's kinda like an impulse and always apologize but they just can't stop doing it.

NIGHTWOLF
Confused af
When he hugged you from behind with his arms wrapped around your neck, you bite him lightly.
He spends a good minute or two thinking about what you’ve just done.
But he quickly gets used to it and finds it odd but cute, doesn’t mind it at all.
When you two were just cooking, you grabbed his butt which made him jolt. It gets to the point where he just expects it coming, just waiting for it to happen so he can smile and ask.
“Having fun?”
FUJIN
Will never get used to it.
When you first bite him, it was on his shoulder. He looked back at you confused and asked if you were okay.
He still finds it cute as well and does ask if every person does this or it’s just you.
Grabbing his butt made him yelp. His face was flushed and stuttering.
You often do it when your both cuddling and like before he ain’t getting used to it.
KUAI LIANG
He tries to find meaning behind your biting and groping.
Like bite him twice in a row, are they asking for food? Or are they asking for a nap?
He doesn’t really react to your groping but it usually depends where you are. Of course, he voiced his comforts and boundaries and made sure you both were in a good location.
But he does enjoy your biting, even in public.
LIU KANG
Asks if you’re okay, seriously…
Like Kuai, he thinks their is meaning behind the biting but thinks more into it. He may ask Raiden for advice.
The groping makes him smirks and does it back. It becomes a contest
He seriously doesn’t mind it and it’s amusing when he watches you bite his arm multiple times.
KUNG LAO
WTF???!! His first reaction to your bite.
You seriously scared him the first time and thought you were an animal, bearing swatted your head if you didn’t hold your hands up.
Instead of jolting, he jumps because he seriously doesn’t know when and where you were gonna do it.
He doesn’t know when you were gonna do it and expects you to do it but doesn’t and when he has his guard down, you do it.
RAIN
Slowly turns his head at you in confusion.
He does see it as off and does ask questions like why you do it. He does try to distract you with his abilities but then accepts it and does find it cute.
He did have to explain that you can just grab his butt and run away.
Of course there is limits but I feel like he has a hard time expressing his feelings and you need to ask if he’s okay with it.
KENSHI
Amusing, very amusing.
Always let’s you bite him, even in public because he doesn’t mind.
As wells as groping but more in a private place. He could always tell when your gonna do it.
Like when your hold back to bite him, he whispers that you or when your about to grope him, he tells you late. He does know that you do it at random and understands.

Invader Zim Deathmatch:
ROUND 3, FIGHT 6:
RECAP KID VS GAZ MEMBRANE!
Tumblr media
The rules are as follows:
1. We’re assuming that both participants actively want and are willing to kill each other unless actively specified otherwise (for example: Chammy Wamboo).
2. The fight must be one on one so no outside help is allowed, but prep time is allowed.
3. The rule for prep time is that if one contestant gets prep time, the other contestant gets an equal amount of prep time as well.
[Masterpost]
Information about both contestants (who they are, powers and abilities, etc) can be found under the cut.
Contestant Stats:
Recap Kid:
“Confuses And Terrifies Me”
Appearances:
Recap Kid appears at the beginning of all 50 of the main comics
Powers and abilities:
Yes.
Dear god yes.
In all seriousness though:
Extreme durability (Recap Kid has been seen surviving being rammed by Zim’s Voot Cruiser at Full Speed and being sucked into one of the Massive’s vents)
Extreme speed (Recap Kid is one of, if not the single fastest character we’ve seen in the series. We know this because in all of their recap panels, they say everything in one panel with one speech bubble, implying that Recap Kid is moving and speaking fast enough to do and say all that just a few seconds. This also implies that out of the four Recap Kids in a panel, the first three are afterimages. (I don’t have the exact math but those 3 afterimages put Recap Kid’s top speed somewhere around 50 KM per second. However, this is just an estimate of Recap Kid’s top speed that may very well be very off))
Shapeshifting (Recap Kid can canonically shapeshift and manipulate their hoodie into various other forms as well. Unlike the other shapeshifters in this competition, Recap Kid’s exact limits here are unknown)
Pyrokinesis (Recap Kid can generate explosions powerful enough to destroy a rather large Irken Ship, and can control fire, creating a ring of fire on command around Zim and DIb on one occasion)
Creation (Recap Kid can create objects from thin air, including objects that don’t exist in-universe (like a Gir Costume, The Comics they’re currently in and a copy of Enter The Florpus)
[Not Useful in this scenario] Fourth wall awareness (Recap Kid is aware of the fourth wall and can talk to the audience, but cannot physically mess with the fourth wall (they can’t move outside the confines of the panels or mess with text bubbles or anything), making this power way less useful in general)
[Unusable] Future sight (A common way Recap Kid uses their fourth wall and creation powers together is creating a copy of the comic they’re currently in and reading ahead to see the future. However, no comics or anything of the sort exist for this fight (a live Deathmatch on Tumblr), so Recap Kid can’t see the future by reading ahead)
Vacuum immunity (Recap Kid has been shown to be able to breathe in environments with no air, although they can still choke and run out of breath)
Time Change Immunity (Recap Kid is able to remember the events of any previous comic, even if it was seemingly retconned with no one else (but Dib, who is also immune due to his own canonically confirmed reasons) remembering)
[For this fight only] Gaz Fear Immunity (Recap Kid is one of very few characters that canonically shows no fear of Gaz and any threats she makes)
Fun Fact:
Recap Kid was originally a planned character for the show, who would have listened to Dib and give him credit for his battles, but only because they thought Dib was making it all up and liked the stories. Also they probably aren’t human.
Gaz:
“Supreme Gamer”
Appearances:
Gaz appears in many, many episodes and comic issues, so I’m not going to list them
Powers and abilities:
Enhanced strength (like her brother, Gaz shows feats of incredible strength (most likely because she’s a genetically modified clone), including but not limited to being able to throw Dib clean through a wall)
Enhanced agility and stamina (also like her brother, Gaz has enhanced agility and stamina, with the most notable example of this being her climbing up the side of an over 50 story building in the rain without equipment)
Fear (similar to Ms Bitters’ fear ability, Gaz is able to scare most people with threats of extreme violence. Unlike Ms Bitters however, it’s been shown that this ability has limits, with people like Zim showing no fear towards any of her threats. Gaz’s ability to cause fear doesn’t appear to work on anyone that already believes themselves to be on par with or stronger than her and people that are simply too egotistical or arrogant to care, making it a weaker version of Ms Bitters’ fear causing, which works on seemingly everyone)
Intelligence (Gaz is one of the smartest humans in the show, being one of the only people able to see through Zim’s disguise. She also shows skill with engineering and invention, being able to make her own machines (like the robot toys that guard her room) and fix alien technology, not unlike her brother’s skills with tech)
[Mostly Unusable] Gaming (although this seems like it shouldn’t affect anything, Gaz’s gaming skills are an advantage. The reason for this is that a lot of alien technology (mostly vehicles) use controls that are very similar to video game controls, meaning that Gaz can use alien vehicles extremely effectively. Sadly, Gaz doesn’t have any alien technology to use right off the bat)
Fun Fact:
Despite evidence in the show pointing towards the contrary, Jhonen Vasquez has confirmed that Gaz has no magic or supernatural abilities and that she is simply "someone you don't want to anger". This is why I don’t list any supernatural abilities in her Powers and Abilities section.
Additional Thoughts:
The two most powerful children in this competition are finally fighting each other.

Note
wtf is field of white flowers
It's a tabletop roleplaying game system I've been designing on & off for about four months now!
Originally, it was an unarmed combat minigame I made for D&D, with the intention of making unarmed combat, like, actually interesting. Like, with D&D's default set of rules, there's two ways to handle unarmed combat: roll a contested skill check (or series of checks) or punch each other (for minimal damage unless you're a monk) until someone goes down
The way I decided to spice it up was with a series of Moves:
Swing (big damage but risky)
Jab (lower damage than Swing, but is, in fighting game terms, "plus on block")
Guard (weakest but safest move, and very good against Swing)
Taunt (forces enemies to Swing if successful)
Grapple (enters a grappling minigame where they try to escape while you choke them out)
Everything had a multilayered rock-paper-scissors relationship. For example, if I'm remembering correctly, Swing was good against Jab and great against Taunt, but bad against Grapple and terrible against Guard.
Both players would pick a Move simultaneously, then consult a 25-item table detailing all the possible matchups of Moves. Each player would then roll a skill check based on their Move & Matchup, and then the winner of the contested check would get an advantage based on their Move & Matchup: stuff like making progress towards winning, gaining a bonus on your next turn, stuff like that.
If you won the contest by 5+, it would be a crit and the bonus would be bigger, stuff like moves that don't normally hit your opponent now hitting, or moves that do hit now instantly end the fight in certain matchups
We played it once or twice, and it was pretty fun! Then I realized that if I just made it have its own character creation rules instead of using D&D's, I could make a pretty solid little martial arts game
I swapped out Grapple for the more generic debuff-inflicting Afflict, introduced what would eventually become 80 different special abilities to mix and match in the form of Powers, and allowed players to customize their Moves through the use of Modifiers and custom outcomes
It was originally meant to be a 1v1 "fighting game tournament" sort of game, as a sort of combination deckbuilder/rpg where you compete with friends to make the most optimal build, but then I decided that (a) it actually had a lot of potential as a more traditional rpg and (b) introducing allies would open up a lot of design space for more supportive gameplay
the first playtest was an incredibly unbalanced 1v1 test of white-room optimization that showed promise but revealed a lot of deep issues in the system. the second playtest, months later, was a fucking glorious traditional dungeon crawl through the expansive basement of a missing crime lord, and everyone had a blast with that. it still revealed a shitton of issues, because that's how playtesting goes!
it's gone through a shitload of changes in the time I've been working on it, with currently around 12k words of rules text and customization options, compared to the original "one page and a reference table" that I made for a D&D minigame
i'm gonna be running a bunch of playtests with friends over the summer, and hopefully some day the rulebook gets into a sufficiently organized state that I can post a playtest version that DOESN'T require me to be on speed dial to explain anything i forgot to mention in the rules (and hopefully later an illustrated and finished copy for sale)
